Dyeing with Indigo
2 hour workshop: August 20th, 11am-1pm
Explore the mysteries of natural indigo vat dyeing. We'll cover the nuances of working white cloth into variegated shades of blue using traditional Japanese resist methods to create pattern. Each student will dye two scarves in a fine Linen/Rayon blend fabric. If you have worked with indigo dye before, you may bring an additional project to work on. Materials provided. No prior experience necessary.
Dye themed snacks will be provided!
Dates, Times & Makeup Day Policy:
Class takes place on X date. If the instructor is forced to cancel a class session an additional class day will be offered, taking student schedules into consideration. As always, a meal and coffee/tea are included.
Open Studio Policy:
The studio is open Sunday evenings from 6pm until 11pm. Anyone is welcome to visit and students are encouraged to continue working on their current projects. This is not intended as an alternative class day and as such the instructor will be at work on other projects, however will be available for guidance and troubleshooting.
Registration Policy:
Course fees are nonrefundable after the first day of class, but we are happy to apply a credit to a future class in case of the need to reschedule. Note that this will be done only once, so please choose dates to which you can commit.
